The Shed
Based in Somerset, The Shed is my home workshop purpose built to house my projects combining traditional craft and advanced manufacturing. Equipped for additive, subtractive, and transformative processes, it serves as a testing ground for iterative engineering and intricate handmade works.
Additive Manufacturing
Voron Trident 350mm
Serial VT.2099 with a 350x350x300mm build volume. Enclosed on all sides to maintain the thermal stability required for large format printing of high temperature polymers like ABS and ASA.
Voron EnderWire
Ender 3 to Switchwire conversion, serial VS.887, used as a testing platform for upgrades and modifications as a basis for tinkering with hopes to implement ideas to further machines.
Bambu A1
Equipped with a 256mm cubed print area, this printer is utilised for rapid prototyping and non functional parts.
Prusa MK3S
Maintained as a reliable system specifically tuned for TPU printing.
Bambu A1 Mini
Compact and high speed, used for small scale testing and production of secondary parts that do not require a full sized build plate.
Metalworking
2×48 Belt Sander
A custom built belt sander with 40mm box section for the arms and laser cut profiles for the body. Completed with a 1.5KW motor on a VFD for speed control.
Pillar Drill
A Draper D16 pillar drill with a 3 to 16mm chuck for accurate holes, tapping, and reaming of printer parts and metal assemblies.
Forge & Anvil
Propane forge and 72kg anvil used for traditional blacksmithing and heat treatment of custom tools.
Woodworking
3018 CNC
An upgraded 3018 CNC machine featuring HGR20 rails on the X axis, and an extended Z axis with a brushless DC motor spindle. Used mainly for light milling of woods and non-ferrous metals.
Motorised FretSaw
Used for detailed profile cutting in wood and soft plastics.
The Shed is supported by a full range of hand tools and manual equipment from hammers to chisels, and soldering irons to block planes. Providing the necessary tools for every project.
